1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit, such as your preferred language and other settings, to improve your browsing experience.
2. How We Use Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies, pixel tags, local storage, and other similar technologies (collectively, "Technologies") for various purposes, including:
- Ensuring site functionality (operationally necessary cookies)
- Enhancing website performance and analyzing user behavior (performance cookies)
- Improving user experience by remembering preferences (functionality cookies)
- Delivering targeted advertising (advertising and targeting cookies)
3. Types of Cookies We Use
| Type of Cookie | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Operationally Necessary | We may use Technologies that are necessary to the operation of our Site, Services, applications, and tools. This includes technologies that allow you access to our Site, Services, applications, and tools; that are required to identify irregular Site behavior, prevent fraudulent activity and improve security; or that allow you to make use of our functions such as shopping-carts, saved search, or similar functions |
| Performance Related | We may use cookies, web beacons, or other similar technologies to assess the performance of our Site, Services, applications, and tools, including as part of our analytic practices to help us understand how our visitors use our Sites, determine if you have interacted with our messaging, determine whether you have viewed an item or link, or to improve our Site content, Services, applications, or tools. |
| Functionality Related | We may use cookies, web beacons, or other similar technologies that allow us to offer you enhanced functionality when accessing or using our Site, Services, applications, or tools. This may include identifying you when you sign into our Site or keeping track of your specified preferences, interests, or past items viewed so that we may enhance the presentation of content on our Site. |
| Advertising or Targeting Related | We may use first-party or third-party cookies and web beacons to deliver content, including advertisements relevant to your interests, on our Site or on Third Party sites. This includes using technologies to understand the usefulness to you of the advertisements and content that has been delivered to you, such as whether you have clicked on an advertisement. |
Your Options: Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies and tracking pixels. You can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being set. Instructions to remove persistent cookies can be found through outside resources. Mobile devices may contain settings that allow you to disable tracking, analytics and/or location data. Be aware, however, that if you choose to disable cookies or opt out of tracking or disengage similar features on your mobile device, some areas of the Services may not be optimized for your use, you may not be able to access any or all of the functionality of the Services, and your experience using the Services will be limited.
4. Third-Party Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Third-Party Content and Advertising
On Thingz, we and third-party partners (such as advertisers and analytics providers) may use cookies and similar technologies to track your interactions. This allows us to deliver personalized content and advertisements.
Third-Party Analytics
Analytics. We use Mixpanel to understand how our Site and Services are used — which pages and features people reach, and where they run into trouble — so that we can improve them. The provider is Mixpanel, Inc., One Front Street, 28th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94111, USA, and the information collected is transmitted to and stored on servers in the United States.
On our websites, Mixpanel stores an identifier and a small amount of related information in your browser’s local storage, or in a cookie where local storage is unavailable.
Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before analytics runs on our websites; elsewhere it runs by default and a notice tells you so. Either way, you can switch it off at any time through Cookie Settings, and we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to switch it off. Switching analytics off stops the collection and removes the identifier Mixpanel stored in your browser.
In our mobile apps we may also use Google Analytics for Firebase, a service provided by Google, to understand how the apps are used.
5. How to Manage Cookies
